Sancred Welfare Foundation (SWF) works with community members and other relevant stakeholder to promote human, gender and child rights and rights to accessing to various public utilities and resources like khas land, khas water bodies, road and embankment sides, safety net opportunities, medical assistance and other extension services. SWF also works for women’s empowerment and gender equity, works capacity building of CBOs so that they can raise voice to realize their entitlements and rights.

Key Achievements

  • CBOs were facilitated and capacitated who have been working actively to address the rights issues of the poor people.
  • Members of CBO belonging to the CBOs are active to establish their rights and entitlements.
  • The program participants have been able to build a good relationship with government and Non-Government organizations and availed various facilities/resources such as Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) cards, crop seeds, tube-wells, pit-latrines, etc.
  • Government officials, local elites, academicians show solidarity with CBO members through attending different meetings, discussion sessions etc.
  • The local and nation level print and electronic media cover CBO issues especially on conflicts, injustice, land grabbing, physical harassment, violence against women that hamper the livelihood, security and existence of the ethnic communities.
  • CBO people are united and have built linkage with like-minded organizations and raising voice jointly against injustice to establish their rights.

Awareness Building and Gender-based Violence: All Peoples Organization (PO)’s became gender sensitized and 65% members are female. Adolescent girl’s groups were formed to address their problems and the adolescent girls are now more confident; the concept of self-reliance has increased; as the adolescent girls are now enjoying better health, their absenteeism in the school have been decreased. It is mention-worthy that, in 2018, 51 women PO leaders became members of the local Government’s standing committees and playing leadership roles in raising their voices for women’s rights and opportunities. They also urge and pursue those committees to stand against gender discrimination and domestic violence against women and girls.
The domestic violence against women within the family of respective members and the surrounding community has notably reduced; child marriage situation in the community has come under controlled of community organizations. They have gained these achievements involving local administrations, local elites and others respective stakeholders.

POs also betake their efforts in community mobilization in issue based activities (Climate, Disaster, Environment, Rights etc) through organizing various rally, human chain, discussion sessions and campaigns.  PO leaders are committed mostly to upgrade their initiatives in future days and they have planned to work on multi-dimensional issues in the upcoming days and they are confidently in belief that their organizations will be established and recognized as the community change agents.
