Education

Ensuring quality education to all children, especially to the children from the most marginalized sections of society is one of SWF’s key development concerns. SWF’s education program conducts multiple activities to ensure quality education to children through some projects belong to Tahirpur and Bisamhamborpur upazila of exclusion and deprivation including school dropouts, slow learners, out of school children and ethnic minority groups. Through the Basic Literacy Project(BLP) funded  by GoB Sancred Welfare Foundation (SWF) will make access of 18,000 illiterate adolescents and adults of 15- 45 age group to basic literacy. The illiterate adolescents and adults of 15- 45 age group from marginalized and hard core poor households and outcaste minority communities and those who are living in remote locations will be given special emphasis. The assignment will be implemented for the period of 10 months.

Outcomes

  • Awareness of Guardians and Children’s for strengthening school going habit and value of the education enhanced.
  • Community meetings/gatherings made the guardians more aware and they understand the value of education.
  • Regular school going habit of the children developed after getting child-friendly, joyful, inclusive and interactive learning.
  • Around 96% of examinees came out successfully in the Primary Education Certificate Examination (PECE) in 2019 and 100% students got mainstreamed.
  • The teachers, community people and SMC members make liaison with the local Government, NGOs and other sources for getting facilities for students.
  • Local Govt. representatives (Union Parishad Chairman and Members) and Upazila Education Officer participate in different events of education centers.
  • Finalized 300 education centre, 600 teachers deployment and ready education materials for start to activities of Basic Literacy Project (BLP) projects.

Conclusion

Sancred welfare Foundation (SWF) through some projects are run ensuring active engagement of local community. The teachers, SMC Members and parents including local community are pro-active and very careful about smooth operation of education centers and quality education for their children. All teachers received subject based skill training for class facilitation. Hence, students enjoy an interactive and joyful learning environment, resulting in reducing the rate of dropout. All stakeholders involved with the education centers are contributing to their level best to improve and ensure quality education as well as long term sustainability of their education centers.
