GOVERNANCE

SWF is governed and directed by a 7 members of Executive Committee. The Executive Committee members are elected from and by Board of Directors. The member secretary of the Executive Committee has been performing as Executive Director of the organization. The Executive Director is responsible for effective implementation of the programs of the organization and is accountable to the Executive Committee. To ensure transparency, the Executive Director submits quarterly progress report of the organization in the EC meeting regularly.

 

 SWF has a two tier governance system

  • General Board   and
  • Executive Board

General Board

The supreme policy making body. The General Body of SWF mainly provides policy guidance for achieving the intended goals of the SWF and this takes shape through its Annual General Meeting (AGM), it also approves the annual budget. The General Body consists of 15 members. The persons associated with the government agencies, voluntary organizations or private individuals who have a successful record of service in poverty alleviation and or interest in such activities

 

Executive Board

The Governing Body/Executive Committee of SWF is responsible for executing the functions of the organization. It provides necessary directions and determines the action to attain its inherent goal. The Governing Body consists of 7 members. The General Body in the AGM directly selects or elects the Governing Body members. The election shall be conducted through direct proposal and support to the respective candidate/member.

THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS

The following diagram depicts the chain of decision making process and good governance system of SWF which starts from the grassroots level stakeholders of the project i.e. the beneficiaries and ends at the top level management. At the same time the top level management maintains regular communication with the grassroots level beneficiaries in order to ensure utmost level participation of all the stakeholders involved with this project. If and where necessary, an issue may be discussed with representatives of local authorities, partner representatives, or such representatives may be invited to Managing Committee meetings, Governing Board meetings for their participation in decision making
Note: Besides, Executive Director can form a Committee with senior level staffs, which is stated as “Program Management Team (PMT)” for any emergency management need and to ensure smooth running of the program activities.

MANAGEMENT

The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the whole Sancred Welfare Foundation (SWF) and responsible to the Governing Body (GB). There is a Team of Management (Executive Committee), they usually meet 4 times (quarterly) a year to make a strategic plan and decision for SWF. Monthly meeting is organized as well as attended by the Program Head, Regional Head and other senior staffs of SWF and quarterly meeting is attended by Program Head, Regional Head, senior staffs and all unit management staffs. Program Management Team (PMT) included Program Head and Regional Head and all senior staffs. Program operation plan is made by them. They are directly involved in implementation of programs. The Governing Body members are responsible for running the program activities and ensure that the program activities are carried out according to plan. The Executive Director is responsible for the management of overall program activities and implementation in the field together with co-staffs.
