HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE SERVICE

The Health Project Dr. M. A. Rahman Hospital at Golapganj of Sylhet was started in 2008 and phased out on February, 2017. Basic health services like primary health care, ANC, PNC, child delivery (both normal and surgery), newborn care, minor surgery of injury, tumor operation, pharmacy, diagnostic services, in-patient care, out-patient care, public awareness on HIV/AIDS, Training on Sexually Transmitted Diseases, awareness on family planning  etc were rendered through these hospitals.

 

Physical growth monitoring was carried out on regular basis. Family planning and immunization activities were implemented in close collaboration with government health department at local level. The hospital was well-equipped and run by the specialized doctors and nurses. The community people were receiving health services at affordable cost under the health project of SWF. The hardcore people were rendered free health services through this hospital. The community people were made aware of using safe water for drinking, hygienic sanitation and maintaining of personal hygiene to ensure basic health of the community. Awareness sessions on arsenic contamination in tube-well water, HIV/AIDS etc were organized for the community people. Trained traditional birth attendants were organized for ensuring safe delivery at village level.
