Program output
  1. Emergency action for disaster area for immediate action;
  2. Knowledge plan action  for rehabilitation for disaster affected people;
  3. Community base training on DRR and activate the UDMC;
  4. Lobby and networking for sustainable plan and implementation for disaster affected area.

Sub-activities: Base line survey and PRA survey for immediate plan and action, provides training on community managed DRR, activate the UDMC, cash or food for work, infrastructural development (road, housing for vulnerable HHs, construction of school building, office building for community organization, and embankment etc.) need based services, dry and liquid food distribution, health camp, medicine support, lobby and network with donor, GOB, NGOs and Social Elites.

Key learning: Community people aware on disaster risk reduction plan then damage of crops and properties within a house hold and society will reduce.

Each year, flash flood, flood, natural disasters are very common phenomenon in haor (marsh-land) and low-lying areas of Bangladesh. Flood situation deteriorates as major rivers swell, displace thousands of people from their homes, affects the life of millions of others and disrupt the rail and road communications. In order to relieve the miserable situation of the flood victims, SWF has operated emergency relief and rehabilitation programs in its working areas. Tk.19,84,852.00 has spent for construction of the embankment. SWF inspired the community to take local initiative for reduction of natural disaster. SWF provides DRR training in locality to develop their management capacity to manage natural disaster.
