ACTIONS FOR INDIGENOUS, GYPSY, HORIZON AND THIEVES COMMUNITY

While working with greater ethnic groups it is crucial to address the issue of ethnic and cultural identity. The protection of ethnic cultural diversity is one of the main concerns besides of their economic livelihood, health and HR problems.

 

SWF is aware of the internationally recognized principles of ‘prior consent’ of ethnics for any development intervention. The use of Participatory Strategic Plan (PSP) would be an important approach to work with ethnic groups. PSP process will ensure the participation of ethnic groups in envisioning  and designing the cultural, social and economic development of ethnic groups, Thus ensure the principle of ‘prior consent’ of ethnics.

 

In regards of HR, the ethnic rights, especially the constitutional recognition of ethnics will be raised at HR issues. There are national ethnic networks for ethnic rights advocacy and campaign. SWF is assisting ethnic organization to be involved in national networks.
